More about Kahla Ball, the trainer behind The Love of Paws LLC.
Kahla’s journey with dogs began at just five years old, long before she turned her passion into a career. Growing up in Holmes Beach, Florida, her home was always filled with dogs — sometimes as many as nine at once. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for understanding and connecting with dogs on a deeper level. Her professional training journey began with her own dog, Olivia, whose enthusiasm for obedience and agility classes inspired Kahla to dive deeper into how dogs think, learn, and thrive. Since then, Kahla has dedicated herself to helping dogs and their humans better understand one another. She has fostered and trained many dogs, helping them build skills and confidence as they transitioned into their forever homes. Through years of hands-on experience, Kahla embraced the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) approach — an ethical training philosophy that prioritizes the least intrusive methods while minimizing stress, fear, and discomfort. She believes this approach not only supports a dog’s well-being but also strengthens the bond between dog and handler.
